William Lester Fooshee

April 16, 1917 – February 25, 2004

William Lester Fooshee, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at Shands Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Fooshee was a native of Jacksonville, Florida, and a graduate of Andrew Jackson Sr. High School Class of ’36. He was a veteran of the US Army-WWII and retired from the Internal Revenue Service as a Tax Auditor in 1977. He was a member of the Northside Business Club, the Jacksonville Woodworkers Club and North Shore Presbyterian Church, 7700 Pearl Street, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday (TODAY) with Pastor Jonathan Jones, officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Margaret Fooshee; 3 children: Barbara (Bob) Dicks, Chris (Jeannie) Fooshee and Mike (Kathy) Fooshee; a brother: Robert Edward (Eloise) Fooshee; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Fooshee was admired and will be greatly missed by his friends, colleagues and family.
